Hi Everyone.

The year seems to be flying by so fast already. January is done for and we are already into February and getting through it pretty fast!!! Cooper has been at school for a couple of weeks now and seems to love it. He is loving Tuckshop except he is constantly asking me what shop it is because he can't remember the name. Pretty cute!

The house is so quiet without him here. Zach seems to be settling into the routine pretty well and doesn't seem to be missing Cooper too much however is loving picking him up in the afternoons.

I have been getting back into scrapping layouts, and actually getting some layouts done just because. I don't often have to time to do that so it has been a nice change.

The first one is my current favourite and one I made for my sister in law. I love how it turned out, especially the colours.

This one and the Halloween layout without a picture on it and the clown card were all for Handmade Halo, I just didn't get time to post them on my blog as yet.

These two cards were for a challenge at Mad For Markers, and once again a card I didn't get time to post on my blog.

Now to this Months Challenge at Mad For Markers.

I hope everyone has remembered we changed the challenges back to monthly challenges to give everyone more time to get their creations linked up. So this month is to use your Pinks and Red Copic Markers. R and RV Families.

You can make anything you like, as long as you use Copic Markers.

First Week Of School

Hi all,

Well my boy is now officially a School child. He has been fantastic. There have been no tears or tantrums, only excitement and joy at the fact that he gets to go over and over again. I am sure that will wear off pretty soon but for the time being we are rejoicing that he is fitting in so well to the routine and loves being a school boy. He has made a friend although he forgot to on the first day and then on the second day made the friend but then couldn't remember the friends name.

He looks so grown up in this uniform. I really have no idea where the last 5 years have gone!!!!

Zach and I are taking a little bit to get into a routine ourselves. The house is very quiet and Zach is finding it hard to not have Cooper here to play with him all day. The days do seem to go quicker though.

Onto some Mad For Markers news.

We are still continuing with our challenge of using a new combination. It is a lot nicer to be able to have a couple more weeks to spend on each challenge rather than just the fortnight.

I decided I wanted to do something a little different this week. I have used some colours that I haven't used before. BG93, 96, 99. I haven't used the three together before and I definitely haven't coloured a wooden seat with these colours.

I also decided to create a layout with my coloured image rather than just a card. I know that is a bit of a stretch with the colour combo challenge but most of it is all new stuff for me.

I am loving the way the layout turned out. I had the entire layout in my head and it pretty much turned out how I expected it to so I am very happy.

Also this week I have added some gorgeous little items from Handmade Halo. I have used a beautiful resin frame and well as one of their resin flowers. I have also added a little bucket charm which is just adorable.

Finally Back On Board

Hello all,

I know it has been a long time since I have posted but life has been so hectic of late. The end of last year was a night mare for us with me having stitches in my head and the dog being bitten by an eastern brown snake within a week of each other. I took a couple of weeks off from my Design Team work but I am back and into full swing with the new year.

I have had some fantastic news so far this year so I am hoping it is a sign of all the good things that are going to happen to me this year.

The first one came just after Christmas and it was the news that I had received an Honourable Mention in this years Scrapbooking Memories Masters. I am so honoured to get this mention and it was fantastic to see my little boys in the magazine.

I also received some other great news but at the moment I can't share it with anyone. It is fantastic news so watch this space until I can share it with everyone. It will be worth the wait!!!!

So onto some DT news.

This months challenge at Mad For Markers is to use a new Colour Combination. There are so many great creations already being linked to this challenge and the Design Team are giving you some fantastic combinations daily. You don't have to make a card, your creation can be just a colouring or a bookmark or anything you like. As long as it fits in with the current challenge, and you use your Copic Markers.

It would be fantastic if people could also list which markers they use on their creations, or how their creation fits into the current challenge. I know I have seen some gorgeous combinations already but it is rather hard to pick the colours from photos.

This week I was inspired by a creation that I saw recently and thought I would get my Sweet Pea stamps out. I also wanted to make a card that had no pattern paper on it. I wanted to the card to be relatively simple.

I have used a light shade of yellow green which I don't normally use and I have teamed it up with neutral Grey's. I don't normally colour hair in Grey's so this is definitely a new thing for me but I am loving the way the entire image turned out.

I also added a cut little doily in green that I have had for so long and have just never got around to using it.

Christmas Anyone!!!!!!!!

Hello all,

WOW, Christmas is coming so fast this year. I can't believe it is only 4 weeks away. I have to say I am a little excited for Thursday as it will be the 1st which means I get to put the tree up. Cooper loved doing this with me last year so I hope he loves it just as much this year.

This fortnight at Mad For Markers

the challenge is to create something for Christmas. It can be anything you want. Even if you don't get a finished product completed but have coloured something we would love to see it.

I have used another Make It Crafty digital image. I am loving Digital Images at the moment and can't see to get enough of them!

I have coloured the Signpost in and then added some White Dimensional paint to give it the effect of snow. Unfortunately when I started the paint wasn't shaken up enough as is a little watery looking but I still like it anyway.

A Little on the Last Side!!!!!

Hi all,

Sorry my post is a little late this week. I have had visitors over the weekend and didn't get a chance to get my post up.

This week at Mad For Markers the challenge is "Anything Goes" That is such a broad topic that there is no excuse for not being able to create something. All you have to do is use your Copic Markers.

I am trying to get all my Christmas cards completed so that is all you will see from me at the moment. I have decided to make a card for each family in our extended family and make a little pocket on the inside for a scratchie or something.

Hi all

I am here with another little bit of inspiration for you for our current challenge over at Mad For Markers. You can check out the challenge blog for all the details.

This fortnight our challenge is to use your black and orange Copic markers on your creation. Once again remember you don't have to make a card. I have created a wall hanging to show you just how easy it is to create with your copic markers.

My images are from Bugaboo digital images. I thought they were just perfect for what I was creating. I added some pattern papers and put it all onto a canvas which I painted.

A Spooky Monday

Hello to all in Blog land........

This fortnight It was my turn to set the challenge over at Mad For Markers.

Here is the challenge;

This fortnight I thought we would pay tribute to all our American followers out there. Even though I live in Australia I love the thought of Halloween. I remember as a little girl having a haloween party and visiting all our neighbours (who had already been pre warned by my mother) and going trick or treating.

So this challenge I would like to see you use your Orange and Black to create something. remember it doesn't have to be a card.

This month I have made a little Trick or Treat bag. I have used one of the cute new La La Land stamps.

I have teamed it up woth some spooky papers and some cobwebs (cotton balls). I also used a Martha Stewart punch complete with it's own little bats.

How cute does this little bag look!!!!!!!

Christmas is Coming

Hi All

This week at Mad For Markers we are still following the sketch created by Susan. It is a great sketch and quite easy to follow.

I have decided I had better really start getting organised and I have started making my Christmas cards. I have decided this year to make one for everyone in the family and I have included a little pocket on the inside and I will probably put a scratchy or something inside. We normally only buy for the kids and just give scratchies for the adults.

I found this cute little poinsettia flower on Beccy's blog. She does some wonderful drawings. I have coloured a few extra petals as well and 3D them to give the whole image a bit of dimension.

I am really happy with the way the whole card turned out. I am loving the more traditional look.

A New Card

This week seems to be flying by, I know before too long it will eb Christmas. I say I am going to be super organised this year but some how I don't think that is going to happen!!!!!

Favourites

Hi all

This fortnight at Mad For Markers we are talking about Favourites.

We would like to see your favourite colour combination on your creations. Now if you had of asked me what my favourite food was, or drink, or tv show that would be really easy to answer but my favourite Copic Colour Combination is a lot harder to answer. There are so many colours that look great together and because I colour so often and so many different things it is hard to pick one that is a definite favourite.

So after thinking about it for a while I decided that I have boys and do a lot of boy creations and when I do do a girly creation I like it to look "very" girly. I love pink and brown together and so that is the combination I have gone with.

I love a soft dusty rose pink rather than anything too bright. I also like the way it gives the creations a bit of a vintage feel.

I got this digital image recently and thought it would look great coloured in. I am very happy with the way it turned out. It definitely shows how nice the pink and brown look together. Unfortunately I haven't got my camera at the moment and am taking photos with my phone so the card isn't really given any justice in the photo.

What a Weekend!!!!!

Hi all

Well what a weekend. I spent the entire time helping mum, Karen and Russ move the shop to the new location. The shop is twice the size of the old shop but we still managed to fill it pretty quickly. There is a massive classroom and even a store room which is going to be a novelty. If you are in town make sure you come and check out the new shop. it is at 10/135 Alma street.

This fortnights challenge at Mad For Markers is to use your colourless blender on your creations. It is a really easy challenge and you can do so much with your 0 marker. I tend to use mine a lot for fixing up mistakes but I have enjoyed being able to use it for other purposes.

I coloured the background paper with a Copic marker and then I stamped the butterfly image all over which I had coloured with the colourless blender. This technique is really easy to do but you have to be pretty quick as the colourless blender will dry pretty quick.

I then coloured a stamped image of the butterfly in with Copic Markers and then went over the wings with the colourless blender. I wanted to give a see through effect to the wings.

Long Time Between Drinks......................

.................Well between post's anyway. My whole family has been having a bit of a rough time at the moment. We have had sick children and I am sure the big has taken up residence in our house. It doesn't seem to want to leave despite me completely sterilising the entire house. I have never done so much cleaning in my whole life.......... We still have one who is a bit unwell but we are at the stage of blood tests so hopefully that will give us some answers.

I am trying to get things back to normal and that even includes making a card. I have had a couple of weeks off from Mad For Markers but I am slowly trying to get back into it.

The current challenge is to use your Colourless Blender to create some kind of effect with your creation.

I got this digital image of a well recently and thought it would be a great image to use. I have coloured the brick roof and the well itself with brown markers and then gone over them with the colourless blender to give them a bit of a weathered effect.

I am really happy with the way it turned out. I made the image into a different card. Something I saw on a blog while surfing and thought I would give it a go.

Make a Scene

Hi all

Well when you read my title for this post you would think I was talking about making a scene in public but no. I am actually talking about the new challenge over at Mad For Markers here; http://madformarkerschallenges.blogspot.com/?zx=74012653bf87ebef

The challenge this fortnight is to create a scene on your creation. You can do this anyway you like as long as it is a scene.

I chose to create a scene by incorporating a few different digital images into the one. I have actually used 4 individual images and combined them to create the one "scene".

The little girl is a Charmed digital download. the two pots are separate images and are from Charmed as well. The fence is from Make It Crafty. I love their digital images.

I have used some Echo Park papers and Embellishment stickers from the same range.

More Sparkle

Hi All

Firstly today I wanted to show you the card I have made for the current challenge at Mad For Markers. There challenge site is here; http://madformarkerschallenges.blogspot.com/?zx=74012653bf87ebef The challenge is to use your Spica Pens on your creations. Who doesn't love a little sparkle now and then!!!!!

The Image I have used is a bit of an unlikely image. It is not something you would normally see with some sparkle on it but I was at a crop and pulled out this image and thought why not!!!!!

I really like how the image has turned out. I have added some spica pen to the grapes on the vines and also to the flowers on the bottom of the card.

It is once again so hard to photograph spica pen but you get the general idea!

Razzle, Dazzle!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is having as productive a day as I am having. I am actually getting a lot done which is great as I am slowly but surely marking things off my to do list!!!!

I have chosen this cute little girl from Sugar Nellie. Once again I have had her for a while but haven't gotten around to using her yet. She was fun to colour but I think I need more practice on the skirt to get the shading right.

I have used my red spica on the dream catcher and my clear spica on her wings.

Spica pen is always really hard to photograph so you will have to just trust me when I say it looks very sparkly......

I also wanted to show you how I have punched some little flowers from pattern paper and then coloured them with clear spica as well. You don't always have to just go over your coloured embellishments!

A sketch and lots of photos

Hi all

I have a card to show you firstly today which I made for the current Mad For Markers challenge. The challenge was set by Bron and is a sketch challenge. The sketch is a great one, check the challenge site here for all the details; http://madformarkerschallenges.blogspot.com/?zx=74012653bf87ebef

The rules are really simple, all you have to do is follow the sketch loosely and use your Copic Markers. It couldn't be any easier than that. You can interpret the sketch any way you like, as long as we can see you have used the sketch, so you can flip it, rotate it, mirror it. anything, Just use it!!!!

I have used a stamp that I haven't inked in a while and even tho my colouring is a little rough today it didn't turn out too bad.

These are some new photos of the puppies. They are just starting to open their eyes and are getting up on their feet. They are so cute and very cuddly. Kodah is such a great mum.

We think this little white male is going to be popular and will probably be the first one to go. I just hope they go to good families.

This little girl is my favourite and I am secretly hoping she won't sell so I get to keep her.

These last photos are of a present that we got the boys. We were hoping it would turn up for Zach's birthday but it took a little longer to get here. The boys just love it and we are teaching Cooper how to ride it himself.

Zach was a little more scared of the noise but seems to love riding it with Daddy.

Cute Little Sign Post

Hi all

We had Zach's birthday last week, I can't believe he is 2 already, time is flying by. We had a birthday party for him on the weekend with some family and friends. I think everyone enjoyed themselves, even if we did have a bit of drama with the cake. Zach got a heap of new toys and clothes and even some practical presents which is good.

Unfortunately after the party I got a bad headache and have spent the last day and a half in bed. I started feeling a bit better this afternoon and have managed to get a few jobs done.

This weeks challenge over at Mad For Markers is to follow a sketch by the lovely Bron. She has done a great job with the sketch considering it is her first one.

For my card I decided to use a technique that I taught in a class last year. I wanted to do a nicely blended background using inks. Last year I used some brighter red and orange colours but I can't seem to remember which ones I used and how I did it so I have stuck to the paler colours. This technique is really easy to do and is just blending inks on your paper so the colours all seem to seamlessly turn from one colour to another. In this background I have used pink, blue and purple.

I have used a cute little sign post that I got in a set from Unity Stamps. I have punched a heap of flowers and used some liquid pearls which I got last week. I am loving that stuff at the moment!

What a Week!!!!!!!!!

Hello all,

Well what a week, the last time I posted I mentioned that Cooper had been very unwell and it had been a long couple of days for us, well after that post things just went down hill to the point we had to take him to the hospital and he had to be admitted. Poor little man had a severe case of Gastro with Dehydration and low sugar and salt levels. I have to admit it is the scariest thing I have had to go through watching my little boy suffer so much. He was so sick he couldn't even walk. The doctors and nurses at the hospital were fabulous tho, they were great with Cooper and were very helpful.

Thankfully he recovered pretty quickly and he is much better now. It was very lucky that Zach only got a mild dose of it and he was better in 1 day.

Onto Mad news now, this fortnights challenge is to use pink and yellow on your creation. I have to say the pink I don't have a problem with but I really struggle with yellow. I just don't know what to do with it.

I made this card using a gorgeous ornate scroll digital image from Make It Crafty. I love this image and even though it is quite hard to colour to get the shading right it is fun to colour.

I have coloured the flowers with pink and I have added yellow to the leaves. This is something I have seen but haven't tried before........... I think I need more practice!!!!!!!

A Bit Low On Energy!!!!!!

Hi all

Well I know this post is a bit late going up but I am just exhausted at the moment. Poor Cooper has been very unwell over the weekend which means very little sleep for all of us in the household. I have had heaps of work to get done but haven't managed to get any of it done. Oh well,. the things we do for our kids hey!!!!!!

Anyway I wanted to show you the card I have finished finally for the RED Hair challenge over at Mad For Markers. I am loving this challenge at the moment because you don't normally see red hair much on coloured images. I don't' know if people think it is too hard or they just don't want to step out of their comfort zone.

I decided to go a bit crazy and I went with the bright red colour combinations. I really like the way this image turned out. I added a little bit of N7 and N9 around the face to give it a really dark shadow. I think this would be the first time I have tried that and it worked really well, needless to say i will be giving that a go another time........

This has even encouraged me to try a red colour in my hair when I can get the time to colour it, I just don't think I will be going this bright!!!!!!!!!!

Red Hair and Some Exciting News

HI all

I am here today to show you a card I made for the current challenge over at Mad For Markers here: http://madformarkerschallenges.blogspot.com/?zx=74012653bf87ebef The challenge is to create something with RED HAIR. Now that is pretty much open to your own interpretation as long as you us Copic Markers on your creation.

I had this idea in my head of doing something with a snow globe and lucky I found a stamp at the shop of a snow globe. I think I am in love with the stamp, It is such a nice stamp and you can do so much with it. I thought this cute little Magnolia image would look great.

I have coloured her with redish brownish hair. I really like this combo and I find myself using it a lot lately.

It is a bit hard to see in the photo but I have coloured the entire image and then once I knew it was all dry I coloured over the entire thing with a clear spica pen to give the illusion of being in the snow globe with glitter in it. I even added some glitter at the bottom of the glass to make it look like there is glitter inside. I think it looks great.

The papers are from a pack I found at BigW. I just loved the colours even if I am not really a pink girl. There were so many in the pack and they were beautiful to work with.

Onto some more news........ My twin sister Melinda has recently got engaged. We are all very happy for her and Adrian. He is a really nice guy and I hope they have a great life together. The wedding isn't going to be for 12 months but I am sure that is going to fly by so quick. It's all a little bit exciting..

I went to the craft show a couple of weekends ago in Brisbane. I actually went down for some R&R and to do the Copic Intermediate Certification course which I just loved. I learnt so much more that I didn't already know. It was a lot of information for one day and I have a huge headache by the end of the day but it was great to learn new things. I had a great time in Brissy. I did a lot of shopping, ate far too much food and didn't get too much sleep but all in all it was a great couple of days. The best part about it was I got to spend the time with my Best Friend who came down with me. She had some things she has to do in Brissy so we made it into a girly weekend. It was Fantastic. I hope we can make it an annual thing.

Better go and get some more work done.

I chose a cute little Magnolia image to colour. I really like to colour this image but I am not totally happy with the dress. It just didn't turn out the way I had hoped.

I don't do too many backgrounds either so I thought I would give it a go. I suppose looking at it now the images don't really suit each other but i don't mind them.

A New Challenge While I'm Away

Hi to all my followers.

I am away at the Craft Show in Brisbane at the moment, I am also doing the Intermediate Copic Certification so I have scheduled this post so I really hope it appears like it should.

I am having a little bit of "me" time while I am away. I am going to do a little shopping, eat plenty of food and do some relaxing things. I just hope this rain doesn't follow me all the way to Brissy. I think I will be a little disappointed if it does!!!!!

They are really cute stamps and are so easy to colour. I am really loving them at the moment.

I have used some Prima papers that I had leftover from a layout.

I have decided from now on I am not going to be putting sentiments on my cards as I sell most of my cards and I don't want to presume what people use the cards for. If they would like me to put a sentiment on after they have purchased the cards then I can do that. Besides I can never decide what to put on the cards anyway.

Tag...... Your It!!!

Hi all

I was suppose to have this blog post up this morning but I have my gorgeous niece Amelie here today and with 3 under 5 it was never going to happen on time. The boys are having so much fun playing. it is a little bit strange for Zach but he is getting better as the day goes on.

The challenge this fortnight is to follow a sketch by Melissa. You can do anything you like to this sketch as long as you follow the basics of it. I love this sketch, it is really easy to follow and you can make a card or a tag or something to go on a scrapping page if you like, as long as you use your Copic Markers.

I decided to make mine into a card again. I still followed the sketch but just have mine opening as a card.

I loved this Image by Becci and thought it is never to early to start on your Xmas cards. The colours don't look so great in these pictures but they look a lot more vibrant in real life.

What a Weekend

Hi all

What a weekend we had. The show was great. It was really busy and fantastic to see so many people we knew. It's great when the local community get behind local events. We even had some out of towners come and visit us. I sat and did Copic Marker demonstrations all weekend, there were so many people who came and coloured with me. I hope I have convinced some people of the wonderful world of Copic Markers.

Monday, Monday and a Show

Hi all

I know I say it every week but the weeks just seems to fly by so fast. I wish the world would just slow down for a little while. I was sick over the weekend and spent the day in bed and I feel like I have missed so much from just being out of action for 1 day, so we are back to catch up.......

I have coloured the Chipboard "dog tag" with my Copic markers. It is so simple and easy but looks great and an easy way to make all your embellishments match. You can colour just about anything.

This weekend A Crafter's Passion will be attending the Rockhampton Fair-Stival Show. It will be at the Show grounds each day from 10:00am-4:00pm Saturday and 10:00am-3:00pm Sunday. We will be doing demonstrations as well as make and takes. We hope to see a lot of new faces there as well as all out regular customers.

Your Options are Endless!!!!!!

Hi all,

Here we are again at another Monday, they just seem to be coming around so quickly. I am sure somewhere in there I am having just full weeks of Mondays!!!!

So the challenge this fortnight at Mad For Markers is to colour your embellishments with your Copic Markers. I love doing this as you options are really endless. You can colour just about anything to match your work!

Today I chose to colour this beautiful flower branch. I got the digital image off a lovely lady called Beccy. She does the most amazing drawings and then shares them all on her blog for anyone to colour. She is so generous!

I loved the reflection in this photo so kept it in when I edited the picture!!

I have coloured the image in with Copic Markers, I then coloured the ribbon in the background with my darkest marker.

I coloured this cute little flower and pearl spray with Copic Markers as well so it all matched. It turned out so pretty!

So you can colour just about anything you want to add to your card. That is how easy the challenge is this fortnight so why not give it a go!!!

Also I wanted to remind people of the current Australian Copic Card Challenge. It is a great challenge with some awesome prizes up for grabs. They have relaxed the criteria a bit as people were having trouble getting the required colours so now all you have to do is make a card with markers from the colour families RV, G and BV. It is that easy!!!!!!! I know I am definitely giving it a go. You can enter as many times as you want. Where is the Year going????????????

Hi all

I can't believe it is May already. I have no idea where the year is going but I do know if I blink I am sure to miss it. It just seems to be flying by. I think Xmas is going to sneak up on us very fast this year.

Thank You to my wonderful Hubby and my gorgeous Children. I had a great day yesterday for Mothers Day. We went out for dinner the night before, then I get a sleep in and was woken to a little boy with his nose in my face saying "Happy Mothers Day Mummy". I then got Brekky in Bed. It was such a nice day. We didn't go anywhere but we got some jobs done around the house that I wanted to get done so it was a lovely relaxing day.

Well we have finally just about finished the Cubby house for the kids. It is looking pretty good, we just need to add some sand and then attach the shade cloth and we are done. We are going to paint the cubby itself but I think that will be a job that the kids can help us with later on down the track. I am sure they will love it and get a lot of satisfaction from it. They are constantly playing on the cubby already and just love it. We call it a cubby but it is more like a little playground as it has a bridge and a couple of slides and they still have their big trampoline. We also have a little bouncy thing for Zach so it is like a whole playground for them. I just hope they get years of enjoyment from it.

It is a brand new week and that means today is my day to post on the Mad For Markers blog for the current challenge. The challenge is to use your Grey Markers to create something. I chose this little image which I found on a ladies blog called Beccy. She does the most amazing drawings and then puts them on her blog for you to just copy. She is such a generous person. I wanted to do an animal or something else this time around as I have been doing people images for a while and wanted a break. I thought he was just perfect.

A New Challenge

Goodmorning all

Well it's another new week which means another new challenge over at Mad For Markers. Firstly I wanted to let you know that the challenges are changing and from now on will be run fortnightly. This will make it a bit more interesting. It will make the challenges go quicker so people won't be getting bored between them.

So this fortnights challenge on the challenge blog here http://madformarkerschallenges.blogspot.com/?zx=74012653bf87ebef is the create a card using Greys.

I have to say I was a little excited about this challenge. Firstly let me stress that this challenge is to just use Greys; If you choose to colour the entire image with grey Copic Markers that is great, if you only want to add SOME grey to your image that is fine too. You could even use grey markers to tone down what you have already coloured in other colours. It is completely up to you.

So I decided to colour my entire image with greys. I chose the W greys as I think they are a bit more warmer that the others hence the W and give a softer look to the image.

I chose a Magnolia image to colour and had this stamp that I hadn't used yet so thought I would give it some ink.

I have added some Prima say it in pearls as well as a Prima Music stamp which I have but once again is something I don't use very often.

I wanted to add just a tiny bit of other colour so gave the frog a bit of green and also some green on the base of the card.

Back In Business

Good morning all

Well I am happy to say I am back in business. the computer is fixed thanks to the fantastic Justin who did a great job. I don't think this computer has ever run so smoothly and so fast. I am really not sure what to do with myself! I can even get onto the internet whenever I want which is a bit of a luxury considering all the trouble I have had so far.

Before I do my regular post for Mad For Markers I wanted to take a minute to remember what today is all about. I personally feel like Anzac Day has gotten a little lost this year with Easter being so close. I think people are forgetting the true meaning of Easter as well. I heard there were lots of people out buying presents for all their family members for Easter. Since when did Easter become about presents. I am not religious but I definitely do not buy presents for my kids. I think Christmas has become commercial enough for all the days of the year.

So Anzac Day to me means Freedom. It means being able to walk down the street in relatively a huge amount of comfort and know that I can do it without fighting and conflict. It means that there were people who gave up all they had to be able to give me my freedom today and there is really no way to thank them properly. It means that I can express my beliefs and thoughts on a public forum and not receive too much flack from it.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.

Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.

They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted.

They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

Now onto my regular post. This month at Mad For Markers we are creating with the family groups of BG, RV and YR. This is a pretty open challenge as there are so many different combinations you can choose within these families.

For my card I chose a CC Designs stamp that I haven't used before. I have so many stamp that have never been inked so I am trying to use them at least once.

I thought this image really suited the BG and RV families as well.

I have added some Flourish with a Bling and some pearls to add to my underwater scene.

For her hair I used E13, E15, E17, E18. I haven't used these colours for hair before but I wanted to do something different and I really like the colour. I think I will be using it a bit more. It is still brown but with that redish tinge to it.

I used some X-press Blending card which can be found in the Mad shop here; http://www.madformarkers.com.au/catalog/

It is great to use because once folded it is 4"x6" which is perfect for a card and I could stamp the image straight onto the card.

It Doesn't Rain....... It Pours.........

Hi to all my followers,

Well I have had nothing but trouble with computers since we moved house, maybe it is a sigh that we should have stayed put!!!!!!! My computer has died and is in at the Computer DR at the moment. I should have it back in the next couple of days but for the time being I am borrowing a laptop from my great friend Di.

Back int he Swing Of Things

Hi all

Well what a busy couple of weeks we have had. We are finally into our new home and all unpacked. Unfortunately it has taken till now to get the internet connected. Poor hubby had to venture onto the roof with a new antenna just to make it all work properly. Fingers crossed it is all smooth sailing from now on.

I have a huge scrap room in the new house and I just love it. I had to go and buy a new display cupboard as the one I was originally going to use wouldn't fit down the hall and through the doorway. Oh well what better excuse to buy some new furniture!!!!!!!!

The current challenge at Mad For Markers is to use YR, RV and BG on a creation. It has been so long since I have coloured and made anything it took a while to get back into the swing of things but I finally got it done and am happy with the end result. I made a three fold card, or whatever it is suppose to be called. I used a new CC Designs stamp I just got and had a lot of fun colouring her.

I used some hand made paper for the tree and the fence and added a little bit of glitter.

Copic Oz Magical Challenge

Hi all

I wanted to enter the current Copic Oz Challenge which is to create something magical. I wanted to create something really special but also really girly. This is what I have come up with........ and let me tell you it has taken me literally weeks to complete this. I also don't think I have ever used so many copic markers on the one creation before.........

So I decided to start with a canvas, I painted it then found some gorgeous background images from Make It Crafty and Charmed Downloads. I have also used a new image I have only just got from wee stamps. They are just the most devine digital images. I got mine from Spesch Digital Designs.

It is very girly and I hope very magical. I had so much fun creating this canvas, now I just need to work out what I am going to do with it!!!!!

I am rather into fences at the moment so I just had to add a fence with some crackle paint but I made the fence curve at the front so it stand off the canvas a little.

I added an owl with some flower soft to the tree and some glass stones in the garden part of the canvas. I also added this cute little birdcage charm which I actually found on a necklace.

Mad For Markers Monday

It is my turn today to post on the Mad For Markers Challenge Blog. Our current challenge is to use your brown Copic Markers on a male card. I have used a very cute stamp by Penny Johnson for Stampavie. I love this stamp and think it is great for male cards.'

A Bird cage and Kombi!!!

Hi all

Sounds like a bit of a strange combination but that is what I have to show you today.

The current challenge at Mad For Markers is to create a male card with your brown copic markers. I seem to be a bit in love with bird cages at the moment and even though some may not see them as being very "masculine" I don't have too many male stamps so that is what I have for today.

This beautiful image is a digi and has come from KLM Digital. I am a bit lazy and haven't had time to make it into a card as yet but I am sure I will eventually get there.

I also wanted to show you the Kombi Van I made for my gorgeous friend Di, She loves Kombi Vans and when I saw this awesome MDF one from Twiddlybitz I just had to get it and make it for her.

I have added a little album in the middle with photos of my kids and she just loves them so much.

The little surfer dude was a digital image which got from Spesch Designs. He was originally leaning up against a tree but I took the tree away and make the surfboard for him, I thought it would suit better.

I made the palm tree and the sun from cardboard which I embossed.

There was so much work in this but it was so worth it when she cried when I gave it to her. I hope it lasts for a very long time. Thanks to Tiff from Twiddleybitz for helping me find the Kombi.

A New Week A New Challenge

Hello to all my followers

It is a new week over at Mad For Markers and that means a new challenge. This months challenge is to create a male card using your brown Copic Markers. The guidelines are pretty open this month but PLEASE remember you MUST use your Copic Markers somewhere on your creation.

I decided I didn't want to do the obligatory Male Image on a card so I have used a cute little birdhouse Digi Image I got from Make It Crafty. They have some gorgeous background images and are so easy to use. I have added a fence from a Tim Holtz Die and some flowers from Kaiser.

For some reason the quality of the photo is terrible. Not sure what happened there but you get the idea.

So much for being organised!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all

I was so proud of myself, I was totally organised and even had my classes organised for the next two weeks.........Then Hubby came home from work and brought a terrible bug home with him. He has been off work all week with it, I have been in bed nearly all week, even both boys have had it, vomiting, lethargic, just a nasty nasty bug. Unfortunately whenever I get sick I get vertigo to go with it and that has been the part that has really rocked me this time.

So I have gone from being super organised and up to date to now being way behind in all my work. I am not sure I am going to get another example for the great challenge at Mad For Markers but I will tell you about it anyway..............

A Love Challenge

I decided to try and get the Copic Oz challenge done this month. It has taken me quite a while to get this card finished and hopefully once you have a look at it you will understand why. I saw the idea of a trellis in a great quilling book recently so I thought I would give it a go. Needless to say mine didn't turn out much like the book as I am not the best quiller in the world but I am really happy with the end results.

I have used a digi image from Spesch Designer Stamps here http://www.speschstamps.com/ called "Princess and The Frog" and as soon as I saw it I knew it would suit this challenge of a love themed creation perfectly.

Hello All

It's time for another card for the current challenge at Mad For Markers which is "Crazy Hair" Combos.

I found this little singing girls from "The Greeting Farm" and thought she suited my theme perfectly. I wanted to do an image and a card that was really crazy. I thought it suited what is going on around the world at the moment. There is so much "Craziness" that I wanted to use the saying that goes something like Dance like no one is watching, sign like no one is listening etc etc. I think we could all do with a bit of dancing in the streets and singing at the top of out lungs at the moment. We might be down right now but we are definitely not out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really liked the way the image turned out, I am still playing with fading to white and I am really liking it.

The Big Giant Head

Hello All

I was feeling a little lazy tonight. I just wanted to colour but didn't wanted to bother with the drama of making the image into a card at the end, so I just "didn't bother". I wanted to colour hair but try blending to white, which I haven't done before and I thought what better time than to do some images for this months challenge at Mad For Markers. My first image is a digital I got recently from The Greeting Farm. I really like the image because she has so much hair and it is a great image to practice on but I can't help but think of the big giant head from "3rd Rock From The Sun" every time I see the image. I have chosen this gorgeous image from The Greeting Farm. I had a bit of a spree with digital images on the weekend and found some beauties. I think I am in love with digital images at the moment. They are so easy.

Although I am effected by these terrible floods I still have my life, my house and my family and I thank God for that every day. It is incredible how fast things can all change.

Some Colouring Fun

What an emotioanl couple of weeks it has been for Queenslanders. I thought we had it bad up here until I saw all the devastation on the news yesterday and today. Although I am still cut off from town and there is no food anywhere near me we have wonderful friends who are helping out as much as they can. Even with just the basics like Bread and Milk. It's incredible how we take simple things for granted and don't realise their true worth until we are faced with such devastation. Hopefully the roads will be open soon and we can get back to some sort of normality. I still have my house, my life and my family so I thanks God for that everyday.

A Copic Oz Challenge.

A summer themed card, using yellow and green Copic Markers. What summer means to me!!!!!!!!!!! I love the fact that I live in the country and I can have the benefits of swinging in the trees, well for the kids anyway. I think every child should at least once in their life experience swinging on a tree swing, and what tree swing would be complete without a little fairy in the bottom of the garden.

This little Fairy is a Charmed Digital Image. I just love their images. The tree with the swing is also from their Pixie Collection.

Happy New Year (Even If It Is A Little Wet)

Hello to all my lovely followers.

Well as I sit and type this we are stranded........ well confined to home. We can make it into Bouldy to the servo however when I went there the other day I had to cross water 6 times just to make the 5km trip. We can get into Gracemere.... we think.............. but I am sure there are no supplies there either so there really is no point in going.

We have plenty of food in the freezers so we are fine and have not much to worry about other than not being able to get the washing dry because of the constant rain showers and the kids getting sick of being at home.

Mum is in town and is stuck there, she is staying at my sister in laws house and she can't get home either. Thank God for family.

My heart goes out to all our family and friends who have had to relocate to higher ground. We are desperately hoping everyone is ok.

So what better time to create than now........ I have made a card with a bit of a difference today. Well it doesn't look that "different" but for me it is out of the norm. I don't normally make cards with flowers on them, not coloured ones anyway so this was a bit unusual for me. Mad For Markers Anything Goes

Hello to All my Friends and Followers,

WOW, what a hectic time of year it is....... I can't believe by this time next week the big man will already have been, there will be plenty of new toys already banned because of the noise and things will be getting back to normal....... well for some of us anyway. I will be gearing up for my oldest to turn 4..... Where has the time gone???????????

Very Overdue Post

Sorry I haven't been around for a bit, I have been so busy, I suppsoe it is to be expected at this time of the year.

A New Venture

So I have a new venture to share with you all. My mum and sister have recently moved to Rockhampton, now this was the plan all along as my parents are buying our house but they have moved up a bit ahead of schedule. I teach at a local Scrap shop and the owner approached me recently and asked me if mum or I were interested in purchasing the shop. Well why not...... It is something we both love and it was our ultimate goal, to one day open a shop, it has just happened a bit sooner than thought.
So mum and I as partners took over the shop on Friday the 26th November. We have worked really hard and with the help of a lot of family and friends we have a brand new shop.

The shop is called A Crafters Passion and is located at 245A Musgrave Street North Rockhampton. We have moved things around, we have added a lot of new stock and we have basically done a huge revamp. It was such a mamoth task but we have had some wonderfully positive feedback so far. The shop is open 9:00am - 5:30pm daily and 9:00am - 2:00pm Saturdays. We have a layout class on Thursday nights and while that is on we are leaving the shop open for shoppers till 8:30pm.

It is such an exciting time and just a little nerve racking but we are having such a ball.

We have a lot more new stock coming in and we will be sending out emails weekly to let all our valued followers what is happening in store.

A Bit Of Pink

Happy Monday Morning All

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We have had so much rain but today we finally got some sunshine and even managed to get all the washing finished.

Today I want to show you the card I made for the Mad For Markers Monthly challenge. As you know the challenge is to make a Christmas Card using Non Traditional colours. I am loving my Olive Green combo at the moment and am teaming it up with just about anything. This time I have added some pink and I used the feathering technique. I don't use it very often but I am just loving it on this card.

On A Scrappers High

Hi all

I am on a natural high at the moment. I finally got my hands on this months Scrapbook Creations and found two very familiar little boys on the cover.

I have been so honoured to be given the front cover of the Christmas Issue. More than anything I am so excited for my boys. I have bought a couple of extra copies and put them away for them. This can be their claim to fame when they are older.

It was rather hard to explain to my hubby why this was such a big deal for me but it hasn't dampened the excitement.

New Copic Oz Challenge

Hi all,

I have been sick the last couple of days so am ferociously trying to catch up. After making 3 cards and 2 tags today I think I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I wanted to do the Copic Oz challenge this month of feathering with your Copic Markers. I haven't tried this technique too much so I was a bit scared at first. I am not sure if I chose really great colours either. The violet colour did bleed a little, not sure if it was my colouring or just the colour but I am pretty happy with the end result.

I also tried a different style of card I saw on the Charmed Cards and Crafts site. I loved this style of card and will definitely be making some more of them.

Final Queen Of Cards Competition.

Hi all

I haven't posted for a few days, I have had so much on in the last week. I have had visitors then I got sick and then a very dear friend of mine became quite ill. So I have been MIA for a little while but I am now trying to catch up on things.

I wanted to show you the last two cards for the very last Queen of Cards Challenges at Debs Creations. I set these last challenges and what an honour it was.

For the first challenge I asked for a card using one of the new Bildmalarna Christmas stamps. I wanted to see all the traditional Christmas colours and all the traditional trimmings. I chose Mimoso with Candles and I combined her with the Cosy Hearth. Both these stamps can be found at Debs shop, just click on my sidebar link.

The second challenge was to use a Magnolia stamp that isn't a Christmas one and turn it into a Christmas scene. I also wanted to see another stamped or digital image, it could be a background image or a sentiment etc. I chose to use the Tilda with Flag from the Autumn Collection which can also be found in Debs store. I teamed her up with a digital Christmas tree I got free recently.

I also used some Echo park papers for this card and some white flowersoft for the bottom of the tree.

The Final Reveal

Isn't she just the cutest. She looks rather cheeky too. I loved colouring her with my copic markers and am really happy with the colour scheme I chose. I have added some Magnolia butterflies to the card but wanted to keep it quite simple. I really just wanted the stamp and the colours to shine.

M4M Clock and Reveal #3

Goodmorning all

I will apologise as this is going to be a lengthy post. I have lots to talk about this morning.

Firstly I have made my very first post over at Mad 4 Markers as a new Design Team Member. Our current challenge is "Anything But A Card". I found this Cute MDF train which has been sitting on my shelf for waaaayyyy to long and thought it was time I did something with it. I decided it will be going in my second sons bedroom who is only 15 months old so I wanted to use some soft coloured papers and found these old but beautiful Crate Paper "Cowboy Collection" papers.

I have used a Mo's digital image "I Love It" which fit in with the theme of the train. I have also used my Copic Markers to colour the numbers and the rhinestones in.

Weekend For Cards

I am on a bit of a roll this weekend with making some cards. I have 3 done and I am onto another couple. This first one is for the Queen of Card Comp over at Debs Creations here http://debscreations.ning.com/photo. You had to use a Bildmalarna stamp and create a card using a sketch. You also had to include a tag ont he card. I am just loving the new Bildmalarna Xmas stamps. I thin they are just gorgeous.

This is my example card for the second Queen OF Card Comp.I have used the sketcjh but turned it on it's side as me image was landscape. For this second one we had to create a card using one of the new Wags and Whiskers Fairy stamp. You also had to create your own background. This is my example for the Queen of Card Comp. I have created the bachground from a digital image and using the computer I have merged the 3 new fairies into the scene to make one picture. A couple of New Cards

Design Team Call

Well Mad For Markers are having a Design team call at the moment and I have been procrastinating about it pretty much all month. I am not sure how I will go but I suppose you don't know if you don't try. Now that I have my copics and am getting a little more comfortable with them I am trying out some new challenges around the place. So I have to put up a post letting everyone know about the DT calla nd show some of my favourite work. I am not really sure if I can choose so i will put up a couple of cards, one new and some older ones and hope that the lovely ladies take the time to look through my blog.

This first card is a new one using Jayne. She is a new stamp from Kraftin Kimmies and I got her from Debs Creations.

Anniversary Card

I was asked by a good friend to make him a card for his parents wedding anniversary. Congrats to Mr and Mrs Jones on yur 40th anniversary. I have know this lovely couple for many many years..... well over 10 at least and I was honoured to be able to make them a card to celebrate this special day. This is the card I came up with

This is also a couple of layout I got finished for the cybercrop over at Deb's Creations last weekend. We were to be inspired by the Alice In Wonderland Theme.

For this layout you had to have the colours pink, two shades of blue, brown, white and purple. My title which I made up is "Lean on me and we will fly to a magical place just you and I"

This second layout was inspired by a photo of Alice in the forest. You also had to have a stamp, some flowers, 2 pieces of pattern paper not in a square some bling and pearls. You also had to have the word wonderland on your layout somewhere.

My title which once again I made up says " Let the fairies take you to a wonderland where all you have to do is smile"

Pre Cybercrop Challenge

There has been a pre cybercrop challenge psoted at Debs Creations. Juts a little challenge to get people in the mood for the cybercrop that starts this Frday night.

Here is the card I made for it.

You have to have an Alice In Wonderland theme to the card and include an embellishment that relates to the movie. You had to include a pink rose, some blue and any image you liked.

I used the gorgeous "Inner Tender" stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps. I think the cat reminds me of the cheshire cat in the movie, as well as all the butterflies.

I have had these photos on my camera for a little while and just haven't had time to do anything with them. I have been talking to a friend recently about where I live and what the "countryside" is like so I thought I would post these photos to give her an idea. I haven't touched these photos in any way, this is exactly what it was like on the day and these were taken at about 7:30 in the morning.

This is my example card for the queen of card comp. Queen Of Card Comp 16th August

Its challenge time again over at Debs creations I set the challenge today and here it is;
Hi ladies. sorry we are a little late with your next challenge, there was a little confusions but I have jumped in this morning and created your next challenge.

For this round I would like to see a card created using lots of mixed media. This means using lots of texture and different things on your card. I would also like you to throw some bling in there as well. And of course we have to add a stamp to it so I would like you to use one of the new Whiff Of Joy Stamps. I have created a briefcase style card using Canvas paper as my base. I thought this fit in with my stamp. I have added a metal buckle to close the card and I have also used a metal mobile phone charm.

There is another challenge for the queen of cards comp over at Debs. It has been open for a little while and I finally have had some time to make a card for it using one of the gorgeous Whimsy Stamps designed by Chrissy Armstrong.

Just a reminder that Scrap n Scrap are moving this weekend weather permitting. The new shop is on Musgrave street where Cactus Jacks use to be. You can drop into either shop over the weekend. You may even get yourself a bargain to save us packing so much stuff.

Happy Birthday Beautiful Boy

I have to start by saying Happy Birthday to my gorgeous boy Zach who turns 1 today. I have no idea where 1 year has gone. He has grown up so fast, Every day he seems to change and grow.

I have been making a lot of cards lately and having so much fun doing it. This first one is Snow White. She is from the new Kraftin Kimmie Fairytale Collection. She is available at Deb's Creations, just click on the link on my sidebar. I coloured her with Copic Markers and had so much fun doing it.

This next card is Marie Antoinette and she is also a Kraftin Kimmie stamp from the Medievil collection. I am loving all Kimmies stamps at the moment.

This is another one of Kimmies stamps, Polly is from the Pirate collection and she definitely has some sass about her.

This one is Gwendolyn and she was such a devine stamp to colour, I can't wait to do her again. Of course she is another Kimmie stamp. I think I am starting to see a bit of a pattern here..................

Well to break the pattern up here is a cute little hippo from the Whimsy collection over at Debs. She has so many new stamps you really should go and check them out.

I had better head off and spend some time with the birthday boy, and maybe get some scrapping done as well.

Don't forget to check out the new Queen Of Cards Comp while you are over at Deb's Creations. The next challenge has been set and it is definitely one to think about, you have to make a card using a different shape, not the traditional shape of a card, you also have to use flowers and a little title. Will have to put my thinking cap on for this one........

Dotties World Challenge

I have been going to the Dottie World Challenge Blog for some time now, they do a challenge every Sunday and even though I have a look every week I haven't had the nerve to have a go at one of the challenges yet. Weeeeelll I thought this week would be the turning point and I gave the challenge a go.

The criteria was;

Time for a new challenge. This time I would love to see Vintage style on your cards, and be inspired by summer. It could be the colors, flowers, time of year and so on. Make the card or project in Vintage style and you are good if you - REMEMBER TO INCLUDE A CHARMED DOWNLOAD, that`s the most important thing with these challenges.

Here is the card I came up with. I found it quite hard to incorporate vintage and summer theme in the same card. I have gone with the colours, I tried to use really bright colours when I coloured this gorgeous image. I hope I have achieved it.

I coloured her with Copic Markers E00, E35, E37, B95, B97, RV29, G17, Y17 and C1.
I also used some 7Gypsies papers and some old music paper to go with the vintage theme.

Busy Busy and a Cybercrop!!

I just don't know where the time seems to go but I am so far behind in everything at the moment. I have been busy getting some layouts done for the Mad About Scrappin Cybercrop which was on last weekend. The theme was "Over The Rainbow" so my layouts have a lot to do with the colours of the rainbow.

I have also been making a few cards for Deb's Creations. I am loving her new stamps at the moment. You have to go and check them out int he shop, some of them....... well ok all of them are just devine. Let's just say my stash of stamps is getting bigger and bigger.

Deb and I are off to Brisbane ina couple of weeks for the Craft Expo. I am so excited and just can't wait. We are doing a copics class which should be fantastic.

Queen of Cards Comp

I am so very happy to annouce Ladies, that there is a big massive & awesome new Challenge Competition coming to Deb's Creations Commencing on the 1st of June 2010- that is just next month!!!!!!!

The Comp is called "Queen of Cards"

The Competition will run from the 1st of June to the 30th of November 2010. It will consist of 2 Card Challenges per month set by the Deb's Creations DT Ladies.

There will be only 1 winner- woo hoo! & that winner will be judged by the Random Number generator! The will be a monthly Quiz Comp for you all to take part in & the lucky Lady who answers the Quiz correctly & is the first lady to do so will win a Stamp of her Choice from the Deb's Creations Online Shop!

To be eligiable for entry, your entries must be Stamps purchased from the Deb's Creations Online Shop. This Comp is open to all Ladies whether you live in Oz or live overseas!

Each month there will be 2 Challenges using a particular brand of stamp eg- CC Designs stamps ect.

Family Photos

My parents were up over the long weekend and we also had some friends down from Collinsville so we had a big dinner on Sunday night at my house. The yabbies we had caught were just devine......
We decided to do a bit of a family photo shoot as well considering we didn't have any photos of the four of us. They tuned out great and now I can't wait to scrap them.

I have only been doing a little bit of scrapping lately. Trying to catch up at the end of the month. I always seem to leave things to the last minute.

I have been busy trying to get up to date tis week and I think I am actually there. I have even had time to make a couple of cards "Just Because" I used a couple of digital images I had and tried a couple of different cards. I have also been practicing with my copics. I am just loving them and I can't wait to get the second set so I have the whole range.

Rain, Rain and More Rain

I love the rain as much as the next country person but honestly I am just a little over it......... Hopefully the builder will start this week or next and our house should be back to normal. I have to say I have met a lovely builder, Just a local guy. What I was so impressed with was the fact that he actually must like his job and pleasing his customers. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It is just great to finally see someone who has a little pride in the industry they work in and isn't interested in ripping his customers off.........

Right, these are a couple of cards I have made recently for Vicki's challenge over at Debs creations. See my side bar for the link. The challenge was to make a card with a magnolia image and it had to have pink, purple and one other colour. I made one with blue and the other with green. I love these cards. I am thinking about starting to sell my cards but not really sure how to go about it if anyone has an ideas please let me know.

These next two are for Vicki's other challenge for last month. We had to make an ATC using a magnolia image. These are the first ever ATC's I have made. I think they are a little bare but am happy with them anyway.

Scrapping scrapping scrapping

Hi all,
Well I have been very busy and sick lately. Sam went to the ACDC concert in Brissy and absolutely loved it. Once he was home we went straight to Bundy to spend the weekend with family. Unfortunately Sam bought a nast bug home with him and we have all been sick last week. We are starting to get better.
